Lisette Poole González is a Cuban American photographer and writer born and raised in San Francisco, she is a native english and Spanish speaker.
In 2019, Lisette published her first book, La paloma y la ley, a bilingual ethnography based on the journey of two Cuban women she followed through 13 countries on their way to the United States. Previously, Lisette lived in Havana and covered US-Cuba relations from 2014-2019, during the Obama Administration and the historic détente that eased hostility between the two nations. She is a World Press Photo 6x6 Global Talent for North & Central America for her documentary Reggaetón Revolución, and a recipient of the National Geographic Covid Fund for Journalists for her podcast in Ciudad Juárez, with Vice News Reports. She loves to dance.
